This week, the Guardian Family ran my piece, ‘Lou, having the time of your life‘. It’s the second article down.
The piece is about my parents’ fight to love and raise Lou – who has cerebral palsy and autism – along with her twin, Sarah, and her elder sister, me; it’s about my profound gratitude to them for that; and, most of all, it’s about Lou’s daily zest for life, which defies so many assumptions about disability.
What a radiant piece, Emma. It is so full of love and celebration that readers will long to hear more about the three of you.
Alison
Thank you so much, Alison. It means a lot to me that you enjoyed this. It’s definitely something I intend to explore further.
Like Alison, I love the celebratory aspect of this piece of writing. It has warmth, as well as music, running all the way through it.
Great readingg this
