We’re looking forward to a full house tonight at New York University – London. If you haven’t already booked your free ticket, try emailing us at SomethingRhymed@gmail.com and we’ll let you know if there are any last-minute cancellations.
Our panellists (Michael Caines of TLS, Harriett Gilbert of A Good Read, and award-winning writers Maggie Gee and Salena Godden) and audience will be discussing the problem of gender inequality in the literary world, and attempting to come up with positive solutions.
Tonight, we’ll be looking particularly at the latest statistics released by VIDA, who provide an annual tally of the gender disparity in major literary publications and book reviews.
As those of you who follow this site regularly will already know, our friendship was forged over plates piled high with food and glasses full to the brim. So you won’t be surprised to hear that we think the best literary salons combine inspiring conversation with great food and drink.
We’re delighted that New York University in London has kindly provided the snacks for this salon series, Britvic have donated the soft drinks and Naked Wines have ensured that our glasses will always be full.
Our friends at Naked Wines have sponsored the Something Rhymed salon series, but don’t miss out just because you can’t attend, click here for a special treat on them: www.nakedwines.com/rhymed
